SHE RECORDS is the home of the Sa-Ha-Ra gang… collectively Peter Hinds, Steve Sinclair and Kevin Ellis. The latest release from the stable features an artist simply known as EKO – a London soul boy from deepest, darkest Hackney.
His song is powerful, solid soul groove … ‘What’s Deep In A Man’. Like many recent releases it manages to marry a retro sound with a contemporary vibe. Once again Silk Sonic is an obvious reference point though some commentators suggest a Prince influence too – the artwork (above) suggests that too. What is for sure is that young Mr Eko is a powerful performer who delivers his message with passion and conviction. It’s good to go right now!
