If you were around in 1995 you’ll surely remember a fine tune, ‘Daydream’. It was credited to sax man MARK JOHNSON but featured a warm and soulful vocal from James Robinson. Smooth jazz… sophisticated soul… it was all that and more and it still sounds good today! Just as well since Izipho Records are reissuing it in limited edition vinyl… ultra clear and black, but just 250 copies of each.
The B side makes investigation essential. It’s another Johnson sax-led tune with more sweet vocals – this time from David Caceres. The tune is a previously unissued ‘Soakin’ In The Sunshine’ and it’s brimful of optimism, offering images of sunny climes and better days… much needed these times! Available from 8th May
