Right now few details are to hand but US sources are reporting the death of soul and jazz guitarist DARRELL CROOKS . He was aged 64 and it seems he died of complications from COVID.
Crooks hailed from Texas but worked mainly out of Los Angeles where he worked with people like Snoop Dogg, Gregory Porter, Eric Clapton, Andre Crouch, 2-Pac, Al Jarreau, Earth Wind & Fire and Ledisi.
Session bassist Andrew Ford who worked regularly with Crooks posted: “Beyond the music, he was simply one of the most interesting people I have ever met. Always thinking outside of the box, looking for something new or different in music or otherwise.”
