CLAIRE’S LONG GONE!

Latest release from boutique UK vinyl label LRK RECORDS sees them offer another outing from CLAIRE DAVIS – a Canadian soul singer who fronts Toronto funk band Yuka. Ms D, of course,  also pursues her own solo projects. LRK have issued her  ‘Thrive’ with ‘Playground’ and also cuts that feature her fronting the HPs.

Claire’s latest LRK solo outing is a tough, tight ‘Long Gone’. It’s a contemporary, funky soul sound with its roots in soul’s heritage betraying Ms D’s influences. She’s an unashamed lover of 60s and 70s soul. No surprise that she’s  shared stages with people like as Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Lee Fields & the Expressions, Daniel Caesar, Charlotte Day Wilson, Jessie Reyez, Jully Black, Snoop Dogg, and Motown Legend Martha Reeves.

Lyrically, ‘Long Gone’ proffers a “take-no-mess” message. It’s a song about knowing your worth and walking away from those who don’t and the sassy soundscape and Claire’s feisty delivery perfectly complements that message!

Right now Claire is putting the finishing touches to an album, ‘Get It Right’ which were told will be a hugely personal affair. Its due for release next spring; in the meantime, the ‘Long Gone’ single will be good to go via LRK from October 7th. Claire’s previous LRK vinyl discs sold out on pre-order.
