American soulstress ROBIN McKELLE is all set to release an EP of Christmas songs. Backed by the ever-reliable FLYTONES, the mini-album will feature two Christmas soul classics and a great Southern soul song, given a seasonal twist.
The two Christmas songs are Charles Brown’s ‘Merry Christmas Baby’ and Donny Hathaway’s ‘This Christmas’ while the third song is Robin’s version of William Bell’s ‘Everyday Will Be Like A Holiday’.
All three tracks were mixed in Memphis and they’ll be available in early November from the usual download sites and via Robin’s own website…. we’ll let you know when!
More good news? Well, Robin will be visiting the UK in March. At the moment she’s booked in at the Jazz Cafe on March 19th… hopefully more gigs will follow.
