Legendary saxophonist PHAROAH SANDERS (pictured) is just one of several big names set to perform at the keenly anticipated 2011 Cheltenham Jazz Festival, which runs from Wednesday 27th April to Monday May 2nd.
Also appearing is CLEO LAINE, JAMIE CULLUM – who also has a role as a Guest Director – soulman JAMES HUNTER, supergroup OVERTONE QUARTET (led by bassist and triple Grammy winner DAVE HOLLAND and also comprising sax maestro CHRIS POTTER, pianist JASON MORAN and drummer ERIC HARLAND), Norwegian pianist TORD GUSTAVSEN, UK saxophonist ANDY SHEPPARD and his group TRIO LIBERO, singer GWYNETH HERBERT, stellar bassist KYLE EASTWOOD (son of legendary film actor/director, Clint Eastwood), and the pathfinding new groups THE NEIL COWLEY TRIO, PORTICO QUARTET and PHRONESIS.
