A week or two ago we broke the excellent news that RAHSAAN PATTERSON was preparing a new album, ‘Heroes and Gods’. It’s due to drop mid May and as a taster he led off with a lovely single – the gorgeous, lazy ‘Sent From Heaven’. The cut got lots of airtime – especially in those Quiet Storm slots.
More good news? Well, while we wait for the LP, Mr P is releasing a second single – especially aimed at the UK and European soul market. It seems that when Rahsaan’s people were talking to his British reps (specifically PR guru Steve Ripley @ Soulfood), they felt that a more up-tempo cut might weave even more magic. Thus, the tight, head-nodding, foot-tapping ‘Catch Me When I Fall’ has just become available. It’s a proper modern soul gem and put it with ‘Sent From Heaven’ and you have two real quality cuts that bode full well for ‘Heroes and Gods’ which is due May 17th on Shanachie Records.
