
US jazz guitarist CALVIN KEYS died on Sunday April 14th. He was aged 82 and reports suggest that he had suffered a stroke.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1942, Keys worked with many big jazz “names” including Ray Charles, Ahmad Jamal, Jimmy Smith, Sonny Stitt and Pharoah Sanders. As leader, he released something like 16 albums including two in the 70s for the noted Black Jazz Record label.
