BY THE BOOK…

Back in March US soul and jazz songbird, LORI WILLIAMS delighted us with her ‘A New Book’ collection. With production and keyboard input from Bob Baldwin and featuring cameos from Najee and Jonathan Butler it offered a relaxing, mature cocktail of smooth jazz and sophisticated soul that had commentators making (again) comparison between Ms Williams and a certain Anita Baker.

The album has now had a physical release on the singer’s own label, Lori Jazz, and as a bonus there are 4 new tracks – the soft shuffle ‘Baby Hold On (To Me)’, the crisp ‘Light The World’, the laid-back ‘Sunday Afternoon’ and a lovely cover of Bonnie Raitt’s ever-wonderful ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’ which features Najee. The album’s out now.
