BRYANT PUT BACK…

Memphis soul man DON BRYANT is the latest artist to have his upcoming album rescheduled. Bryant, known for his long association with Willie Mitchell and Hi Records (Bryant has enjoyed a successful solo career and his is the voice on the Willie Mitchell classics ‘That Driving Beat’ and ‘Everything’s Gonna be Alright’) was set to release ‘You Make Me Feel’ on May 8th  but the collection has now been put back to late June.

Don’s people told us that the 10 track album is a love letter to his wife of 50 years, a certain Ann Peebles. The set has been produced by Scott Bomar while musicians include members of the Hi Rhythm section — Howard Grimes, Archie “Hubbie” Turner and Charles Hodges alongside members of  St. Paul and the Broken Bones and The Bo-Keys.

The album features  newly recorded versions of some of Don’s old songs but the lead single which is out now is a new song – ‘Is It Over’… a dramatic, classic Southern soul ballad that proves that in the real soul business there’s no substitute for experience!
