BRING ME SUNSHINE…

av

Just three years ago AVERY* (that’s right don’t forget that all-important *) SUNSHINE won the hearts of the soul community with her debut long player. Busy tours, guest spots on other artists’ albums, on-point remixes and TV appearances have kept the Pennsylvania born soulstress in the soul spotlight and now she’s all set to release her brand new album.

‘THE SUNROOM’ gets a May 26th release on UK-based Dome Records and already there’s a big buzz on the 12 tracker. Produced by Avery*’s song-writing partner, Dana Johnson, the album’s a wonderful mix of up-tempo grooves and searing ballads like the wonderful ‘Call My Name’. The big old school stomper is ‘Time To Shine’ though the Hi-flavoured opener, ‘Love (Won’t You Try)’ seems to be the cut that’s garnering the attention at the moment. Through it all – whatever the pace – Little Miss Sunshine’s gospel roots sing out loud and clear.

Avery* will be visiting the UK in June to promote the album She’ll be headlining two shows; one @ London’s Islington Assembly Hall on June 20th, the other @ the Old Market in Brighton the following evening. The venues will provide more details.

In the meantime, there’ll be a full review of ‘The Sunroom’ and an in-depth interview with the lady here @ SJF very soon.
