It was way back in January that we told you all about a great modern soul album from C. C. (CORNELL CARTER). Mr C is a top session singer working in and around San Francisco. His CV boasts work with people like Ray Charles, James Brown, The Whispers, The Temptations, the late Natalie Cole, Kool and the Gang and Narada Michael Walden and his long player ‘In The Moment’ won him loadsa friends in the UK soul community.
Since then, the release of a series of singles has kept Cornell’s name out there and early September sees the release of what is possibly his strongest single yet… ‘Sunshine’. As the title suggests, it’s a great summer vibe and maybe when our Indian summer arrives, the cut will become a perfect accompaniment, especially in the new, big, optimistic DJ SPEN/GARY HUDGINS.
