Atlanta-born BRENDA NICOLE MOORER is a singer and songwriter who debuted in 2011 with ‘Songbird’. That album was followed by an EP and very soon the underground soul media were talking about a new talent with a gentle, folksy soul sound mid-way between Minnie Riperton and Corinne Bailey Rae.
Brenda’s just released a brand new 10 track long player, ‘Brand New Heart’ and even a quick listen will make you realise why the above comparisons were made! Produced by Jesse Fischer, the album features a duet with Chris Turner who’s worked with Snarky Puppy’s Family Dinner II but right now we’re loving ‘Burgundy And Alcohol. An unusual song (you can guess that from the title), it sums up the essence of Ms Moorer. Gentle yes and not quite soul, not quite jazz nor folksy… but hear elements of ’em all in the intriguing tune!
