After a six year hiatus, THE BRAND NEW HEAVIES are all set to release a new long player. The album – ‘FORWARD!’ – is good to go on Heavy Tone Records on April 29th. Previews indicate the music retains all the magical BNH ingredients that have kept the band in business for over 20 years… but expect a few surprises too
The founding trio – JAN KINCAID, SIMON BARTHOLOMEW and ANDREW LOVE LEVY – are still at the core of things but for ‘Forward!’ they turn the spotlight on new vocalist DAWN JOSEPH … though for the album’s first single – the uplifting, zippy ‘Sunlight’ they’ve relied on original collaborator N’DEA DAVENPORT to deliver… and she does! Expect ‘Sunlight’ (which is released on 15th April) to become one of the year’s big tunes.
To help launch the album, THE BRAND NEW HEAVIES will be performing live at London’s Koko venue on May 10th (tickets from the usual outlets)…. And there’ll be a full album review and interview with the band here @ SJF very soon.
