souljazzandfunk’s favourite smooth jazz sax man, BONEY JAMES has been nominated for a SOUL TRAIN MUSIC award in the contemporary jazz category. The nomination is for his album ‘Contact’ which was released in March this year on Verve Records. The LP went to no. 1 on the Contemporary jazz chart and it featured high profile guest appearances from LETOYA LUCKETT, MARIO and DONNELL JONES. In the meantime – and midway through a tour right across the US – BONEY will be participating in a special TV tribute to GLADYS KNIGHT. The show will be taped in Atlanta on November 17th for screening later in the month.
