The great and truly legendary BO DIDDLEY is the latest tunesmith to be spotlighted in Ace’s wonderful Songwriter series. Everyone knows that the man born ELLAS McDANIELS was one of the true founders of modern popular music and his own recorded work is hugely iconic. However, many of his songs were recorded and performed by countless other artists and Ace have collected 24 of the best for this homage to BO. Naturally the album features a smattering of UK 60s beat groups (all self-respecting bands played at least one BO DIDDLEY song in their sets) but the collection also includes great cuts from people like BUDDY HOLLY, THE SHADOWS OF KNIGHT, MICKEY and SYLVIA, THE EVERLY BROTHERS, LOS LOBOS and the ever-enigmatic CAPTAIN BEEFHEART.
