Various US music media sources are reporting the death of guitarist WILLIAM “BLUE” MILLER. Born in Detroit as William Mueller, “Blue” is not a household name but he did work with many soul notables – people like David Ruffin, Isaac Hayes, Gladys Knight.
Miller was also a member of Bob Seger’s band and in 1990 in Nashville he formed the Gibson-Miller Band with Dave Gibson and enjoyed country chart success with ‘High Rollin” and ‘Big Heart.’
More recently, Miller worked with India.Arie, producing her albums ‘Acoustic Soul’ and ‘Voyage To India’. He was also a member of her band for several years.
Reports suggest that Miller died this weekend unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm.
