It was back in February, that we enthused about a dramatic ballad called ‘I Do LOve You’ from an enigmatic “new” vocalist who went by the name BLACK GIRL SINGER. The identity of this powerful soulstress was a mystery with the label keeping tight lipped but when the song was re-issued via a collaboration between DSG promotions and Izipho Soul we learned that the “Singer” wasn’t “new” at all! She was none other than veteran vocalist Lillie Nicole McCloud who has a slew of albums to her name. She was also the “Nicole” on Timmy Thomas’ 1986 evergreen ‘New York Eyes’. She also wowed the judges and the audiences on the 2013 season of American X Factor where she was eventually mentored by Kelly Rowlands and reached the last 8!
That DSG/Izipho release paired ‘I Do Love You’ with an equally dramatic ‘Heart Of Hearts’ – which we described back then as “properly old school, grown up soul”. Little wonder then that that particular ‘Heart Of Hearts’ is now winning plenty of plays from people like Roger Williams and Mark Merry. Thus it’s being re-promoted by Izipho and you can learn more @ https://www.iziphosoul.com/black-girl-singer-lm—i-do-love-you–out-on-30-august-198-p.asp
