MAC ROY’AL is a new name to us but we’re told he hails from Memphis and (big surprise) his entry to the soul scene was via gospel. He worked in gospel with (amongst others) Kim Burrell, Karen Clark-Sheard and Kirk Franklin before forming the group, Adagio. He then worked with William “Doc” Wyatt as the Remedy duo before deciding to tread the solo path and right now he’s busy promoting a new, catchy single ‘Sweet Tooth’ which we believe is taken from his ‘Royal Soul Volume 1’ album.
‘Sweet Tooth’ is a pleasant outing with a strong vocal, clever harmonies and catchy riffs… yes…Sweet!
