Inveterate sleeve readers will know the name BERNADETTE COOPER… yep… a member of all girl group KLYMAXX. With Ms C behind the drum kit (and on occasional vocals), the band broke all kinds of barriers. The band fell apart in the late 80s and there were all kinds of legal shenanigans about naming rights and who owned what… you know the kind of thing!
Cooper eventually won the right to use the Klymaxx name but now its seems she’s striking out as a proper solo artist with a single that’s turning plenty of heads on the US air waves. The tune is a steady modern soul groove ‘Believe In Us’ which features a sensual semi-spoken vocal from Ms C which gives the track considerable charm and it’s out now on Yoruba Soul Records!
