In the wake of his much-lauded EP, ‘Easter,’ released last year, UK pianist, ASHLEY HENRY, is set to unveil his keenly-awaited debut album, ‘Beautiful Vinyl Hunter,’ on 6th September via Sony Music.
The 26-year-old Londoner brings together an array of different influences – from jazz and beats, to grim and punk – on a eclectic 15-track set that has cameo appearances from jazz notables Makaya McCraven Binker Golding, and Keyon Harrold, plus rapper MC Sparkz, singer Judi Jackson, and several others.
Reflecting on his debut platter, Henry says: ““Like everyone, I’m hunting for something. ‘Beautiful Vinyl Hunter’ takes you to some crazy places to meet some beautiful and crazy people, all you need to do is listen.” He adds: “My music is a straight up reflection of who I am; London in all its mixed up glory. The immigrant in me has musical roots that are traced back to the 1600s, so it’s important my music today reflects that jazz alpha narrative across different genres and generations”.
The album is preceded by the single, ‘The Mighty,’ featuring Ben Marc, which is out now.
‘Beautiful Vinyl Hunter’ is released on September 6th via Sony Music.
