Veteran soul and funk band THE BAR-KAYS return to the musical fray with an ultra-catchy new single, ‘Choosey Lover’. The recording is a collaboration with Jazze Pha, son of original member, bassist James Alexander. You’ll remember that James was the only member of the band not on the aircraft that crashed with Otis Redding on that sad day in 1967.
‘Choosey Lover’ is a tight groove – you’d expect that from a band with such an impressive CV. The band’s people tell us that the tune helps “fellas shoot their shots with the pretty girls they can’t have”! That may be the case , but it is a good tune that should appeal to both old and new schoolers – a feel of Charlie Wilson about it! Out now!
