Soul collectors will be delighted with the news that speciality label RHINO have decided to re-issue 20 absolutely classic ATLANTIC soul albums in one delicious box set. ‘Atlantic Soul Legends; 20 Iconic Albums From The Atlantic Label’ offers 20 of the genre-defining label’s best single artists sets.

The collection starts with RAY CHARLES’ 1959 album ‘What I’d Say’ and ends with the in-demand 1975 LP, ‘The Show Must Go On’ from SAM DEES – an album that’s never been on any CD till now. In between there’s BOOKER T and the MGs’ ‘Green Onions’, BEN E KING’S ‘Don’t Play That Song’, OTIS REDDING’S ‘Otis Blue’, WILSON PICKETT’S ‘In The Midnight Hour’ and ARETHA’S ‘Lady Soul’ and much, much more. Other featured albums include iconic sets from RUFUS THOMAS, THE DRIFTERS, DON COVAY, SAM and DAVE, THE BAR KAYS and DONNY HATHAWAY and with CLARENCE WHEELER & THE ENFORCERS ‘Doin’ What We Wanna’ included too, demand from collectors is sure to be high.

Each of the albums in the box comes with full replica sleeve and the set is accompanied by a 32 page booklet with liner notes written by French journalist CHRISTOPHE GEUDIN.
