Hot on the heels of his Citrus Sun album, BLUEY MAUNICK has re-marshalled his INCOGNITO team for a brand new album. ‘Amplified Soul’ will be Incognito’s 16th studio album and its release at the end of June is timed to celebrate the band’s remarkable 30th year!
The new long player is a 16 tracker and bears all the hallmarks of the classic Incognito sound – sinuous rhythms, deep grooves, punchy horns and soulful vocals – this time courtesy of old comrades Tony Momrelle and Vanessa Haynes who line up with big voiced new comer Katie Leone. Other guests on the album include Carleen Anderson, Deborah Bond, Imaani and Australian new comer Chiara Hunter.
All the songs on the set are new – save for one cover…. a Bluey visitation to Atlantic Starr’s classic ‘Silver Shadow’. Here our man uses live drums and signature punchy horns to quite transform an old favourite.
