Eddie Amador is a house music veteran…. he’s been around since late 90s and has worked with labels like Yoshitoshi, Unquantize, Defected, Quantize Recordings, Pacha, Suara, Yellow, Subliminal, Spinnin, Stealth, Nervous NYC, Deeplife Records and Toolroom. Right now, Eddie has his own (digital) label, Nu Soul Records and for his latest offering he’s teamed up with Spanish producer Dany Cohiba and LA’s talented songbird Coco Street.
Danny has an impressive CV that includes work with some of top artists, including Cher, Crystal Waters, Deep Purple, Steve “Silk” Hurley, Snoop Dogg, Ron Carroll and Dave Stewart (Eurythmics). For her part, Ms Street (an acclaimed percussionist as well as vocalist) last worked with Amador on his ‘When I First Felt House’.
Between them, Eddie, Dany and Coco have crafted something really very (very!) unusual… a soulful house spin on the classic hymn ‘Amazing Grace’. Yep, that’s right. It sounds odd, of course it does, but maybe we could all do with a little spiritual uplift right now and don’t forget, ‘Amazing Grace’ was written way back in 1779 by John Newton – a retired Liverpool slave ship captain who’d seen the error of his ways – so his song and its sentiments have never been more appropriate.
This unusual and mighty percussive take on ‘Amazing Grace’ comes in the usual plethora of mixes and as ever you pays your money….
‘Amazing Grace’ will be released on Traxsource promo April 2nd / Full release April 16th, 2021 on Nu Soul Records.
