While we wait patiently for the promised TOM GLIDE Autumn album, Monsieur G’s about to whet our music appetites with a new single that features two stunning modern soul A sides!
First up there’s ‘My Time (Shine)’ which Tommy Boy describes as “a classic slow jam for your late night Summer moments”. He’s more or less right and it’ll surprise many who simply class Glide as a purveyor of top modern soul beaters. The vocal on the cut, by the way, comes from NIa Simmons.
The other side of the single features Gina Carey on a solid, mid-tempo modern soul groove that’s ‘Tribute To The Music’. It’s a right old builder of a track with some crazy sax weaving in and out of Gina’s expressive vocal
The two tunes are out now on TGEE Records and as far as the upcoming long player goes we’re told that it’s on its way and will feature people like Hil St Soul, Chidi, Kenya and Candace Woodson along with a few surprises!
