Latest artist to get the full reissue treatment is trumpeter and record company exec, HERB ALPERT. September 9th sees the re-release of 24 of his classic albums on CD while four of them (‘South Of The Border’, ‘What Now My Love’, ‘Going Places’ and ‘Rise’) will also be available in vinyl.
Each album has been remastered from the original analogue tapes by engineer Bernie Grundman who worked on Herb and the Tijuana Brass’ first long players. Between them these long players have notched up something like 72 million sales and across the range you can witness the evolution of a remarkable career.
Herb Alpert still records but now he’s known as a painter and sculptor too while his philanthropic work has donated millions of dollars to worthy causes worldwide.
