Liverpool’s own blue-eyed soul crooner MT JONES continues his onwards and upwards trajectory with the release of delicious new single, ‘All I Do’. It’s not the Stevie Wonder classic – rather a new song, co-penned with Jonathan Quarmby.
Like his previous singles, this one is sweet and smooth and channels the current contemporary take on retro soul. The star of the show, though, is Mr J’s distinctive voice – warm and welcoming with just the right amount of soulful grit.
In many ways , the MT Jones’ sound is out of the same stable as rising star, Jalen Ngonda ( himself, a graduate of Liverpool’s Performing Arts AQcacdemy – is it something in the air or the water up there?) So maybe it’s no coincidence that Jonesy is supporting Jalen on his current tour – the only remaining UK dates are pencilled in for May 8th @ Southend on Sea, May 10th @ Shrewsbury, May 31st @ Liverpool, UK and 6th June @ London.
In the meantime ‘All I Do’ is out now (self-released) and it comes recommended. The good news is that the song is the first offering from our man’s self-titled debut EP, which features 3 other tracks showcasing his distinctive vocal talent.
