New York born TONY LINDSAY is best known for his time with Santana. Tony worked with the Santana band for something like 25 years. He featured on seven albums, won 11 Grammys and toured the world. In Santana downtime he’s also a songwriter – his tunes have been recorded by people like the Whispers, Tevin Campbell and Howard Hewett while he’s also an in-demand session and background singer working with a remarkable list of names and for a few years now he’s been developing a solo career. His ‘Something Beautiful’ album from last year was particularly well received.
Tony’s latest solo offering is a new song called ‘All Is One’. It’s an ultra catchy, Latino-infected thing – not a million miles away from the classic Santana sound, in both rhythms and guitar sound … now there’s a surprise! Tony, though, will tell you that it’s much more than just a pretty song. He says that the song delivers an urgent reminder of the bonds shared by all of humanity and the need to come together, a timely message for today’s world. It’s out now
