For their latest single the latest iteration of FAT LARRY’S BAND have chosen to cover a 24 carat soul classic – Bobby Womack’s ‘I Can Understand It’!
It’s not a new recording, however. FLB’s version first appeared on their 2019 Society Hill Records album, ‘Memories’ (an album that offered plenty of choice covers and re-recordings of FLB hits). It seems that this ‘I Can Understand It’ has been winning plays and attention and thus Butch Ingram (head of Society Hill) is outing it as a stand alone single.
Is it as good as dear Bobby’s original? Well, the jury’s out on this one. It delivers a slightly different treatment – some Philly flourishes and the vocal is soulfully gritty. Why not make up your own mind via diligent investigation!
