‘A World Of Our Own’ is the first single from a new long player by LITTLE STEVEN AND THE DISCIPLES OF SOUL. The album, ‘SUMMER OF SORCERY’ is the legendary band’s first album in a massive 20 years and it’s due on May 3rd on Wicked Cool/Ume.
That first single, ‘A World Of Our Own’ is Mr van Zant’s tribute to the great girl group/Phil Spector era. He says: “Growing up, The Shirelles, The Chiffons, The Ronettes, The Crystals and The Shangri-Las were really important to me. This song is my take on the type of song I might have written for a Girl Group like one of those fantastic acts back in the day.” We’re told that the parent album promises more of the same….”a spirited collection of songs which conjure up all the wonder and magic of the eponymous season – the beach and the boardwalk, the young love and unbridled lust, the innocence and experience that somehow starts it all” is how Steven describes it!
