We’ve enjoyed plenty of excellent new soul music this year and now to our list of goodies we can add another top tune… ‘Beautiful You’ from LYNN DAVIS.
Anoraks out there will know that Lynn is a US singer/songwriter/producer but she’s also one of the best and most in-demand session singers. She’s worked countless sessions with people like Mick Jagger, The Jackson 5, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Kenny G, Barbara Streisand, Anita Baker, and Whitney Houston and for ten years she fronted the George Duke Band. Lynn’s also worked on movie soundtracks with legends like Steven Spielberg, Marvin Hamlisch, Arif Mardin, and Lalo Schifrin.
Every now and then Ms D takes centre stage herself. We have fond memories of her 2022 soul chart rider, ‘Can I Come Over’ which showed why she’s always in demand! And her new ‘Beautiful You’ is every bit as good! It’s a sensuous ballad with full on production which allows Lynn to show off her magnificent soul range. Out now via Bella Records.
