Back in July, everyone’s fave London soul man, SHAUN ESCOFFERY returned to his musical roots with the release of a powerful single, ‘Hope’.
Working with long-time collaborator, writer and producer Gil Cang, the cut saw Shaun deliver a dramatic, broody performance and now the tune’s back with us in a completely “new” format.
For this autumn remix, Mr Cang‘s in the producer’s chair and in his “Gil’s Hot Sauce” mix, he absolutely turns things around, creating, a loose, lithe, Latino vibe. Oddly, maybe, the intro sounds like you’ve strayed into a rehearsal for ‘Strictly’; then the bouncing, soulful house bass line kicks in; that, and Shaun’s powerful vocal makes you realize that, for sure, the MOR of ‘Strictly, this ain’t!
