Latest release from Finnish retro label TIMMION RECORDS is a sweet and lovely instrumental ‘Conrad’s Lesson’ from BRONZE, SILVER & BRASS.
The band are a new eight-piece brass ensemble and this languid, laid-back ‘Conrad’s Lesson’ is their debut release. It’s a soulful and brass-laden mid-tempo groove with a mellow melody.
Saxophonist and band frontman Joose Kyyrö says amongst his heroes and influences is dear Curtis Mayfield and he says about the tune: “I wanted to capture the feeling of a hot summer day, heat shimmering in the air while I’m listening to my idols on vinyl: Curtis, Kashmere Stage Band, Maceo, Idris Muhammad, and all the greats.”
We recommend investigation and by the way, we don’t know who Conrad is or why he needs a lesson!
