Remember Kid Creole and the Coconuts? Of course … and the drummer who propelled the band, MICHAEL TATE, now leads his own outfit 3D RHYTHMS OF LIFE. Working out of New York City, the band delivers a punchy take on Latin soul – proper Nu-Yorican.

The band’s latest long player is ‘Fantasy’ – named for their inspired cover of the old EWF hit. The tune lends itself perfectly to the Latin vibe and vocalist Chris Alfinez delivers splendidly. He takes lead on the equally excellent ‘Quiero Saber’ while the rampant dancers ‘Que Siga La Rumba’ and ‘Oyello’ are fronted by Latin Grammy award winner Herman Olivera.
